There is a quality range within hanadama standards, and these earrings are composed of top-graded hanadama akoya pearls grown in the cold coastal waters of Japan. The finest pearls from this region are known for their mirror-like luster and smooth surfaces.

For decades we have been working with the same family-run farms in Japan. These families understand our rigorous standards and select these special pearls specifically for us. They ensure the pearls are only the top range of the hanadama category.

Once the hanadama pearls are selected, they are imported and graded by our Chief Creative Officer, Hisano. She examines every pearl to ensure the quality is always the same, rejecting any pearls that do not fall within the highest hanadama range.
