Soufflé Freshwater Pearl
30 x 33.7 mm
Lavender with Green Orient
One of the rarest types of freshwater pearls we find today are known as soufflé. These pearls are grown by inserting earthen material into an existing pearl sac after the first pearl harvest. When the pearls are drilled, this substance is removed and we are left with a hollow pearl!
These pearls tend to be very baroque, and the finest specimens will exhibit striking metallic luster and of the rarest of all quality characteristics - orient. This optical phenomenon radiates colors that move and shift as the pearl is turned.
This pearl is offered un-drilled and unmounted. It's can be a perfect keepsake as Mother Nature created, or we can set your special pearl into a piece of jewelry. It's all up to you.
